Dhaka, April 26 -- Dhaka metro rail has resumed operations after an electrical fault forced suspension for nearly two hours.

Thousands heading home suffered due to the disruption on Saturday.

Metro rail operations returned to normal around 7pm, Dhaka Mass Rapid Transit Development Project Assistant Project Director Md Ahsan Ullah Sharifi told bdnews24.com.

He said, "The power supply to the overhead catenary of the metro rail was cut off around 5pm. After it was repaired, train operations returned to normal at 6:55pm."

Many passengers were stranded at stations during the two-hour metro rail shutdown. They expressed their suffering on social media by making different comments.
