Dhaka, Oct. 28 -- The family of metro rail victim Abul Kalam Azad has issued a legal notice demanding Tk 100 million in compensation and permanent employment at the metro rail for one family member.

The notice was sent by post on Tuesday by Enamul Haque Nabin, a lawyer at the Dhaka Judge Court.

Nabin said the authorities have been given 30 days to provide the compensation and employment. Failing this, the family will move for legal action.

Around 12:30pm on Sunday, 35-year-old Azad was walking along the pavement near Farmgate metro rail station when a bearing pad detached from pillar No. 433 and struck his head, killing him on the spot.
