Dhaka, March 2 -- BNP leader Salahuddin Ahmed has said the price hike during the month of Ramadan has made the "people's pulse go up".
At a discussion event at the National Press Club in Dhaka on Sunday, the Standing Committee member said: "The situation of the market is not good. If we only analyse political theories, and people do not have food and the purchasing power, then they will also criticise the government's good work."
The event titled "Role of Politicians in Ensuring Human Rights" was organised by the "World Human Rights Organization of Bangladesh".
Former Dhaka University law professor Borhan Uddin Khan presented the keynote paper.
