Dhaka, May 28 -- A moderate earthquake has hit India's Manipur, with the tremors being felt in Dhaka and other parts of Bangladesh.
The quake, which occurred at 2:24am on Wednesday, was measured at a magnitude of 5.2 on the Richter scale, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
The epicentre of the earthquake was 9 km south-southeast of Manipur's Moirang; 39 km south-southwest of Manipur's Imphal and 354 km away from Dhaka.
The depth of the epicentre was 46.6 km below the surface.
Many people were jolted awake in the dead of the night and shared their fears on Facebook. However, no casualties were reported in Bangladesh.
