Bangladesh, Sept. 16 -- The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested a man who fled Chattogram after killing his son and his "second wife".

A RAB-7 team, in collaboration with a RAB-9 team, arrested the two of them from the South Surma area of Sylhet city on Monday night.

The arrestees are Md Nuruzzaman, 55, and Anwara Begum, 40. Anwara is a resident of Sylhet's Jaintapur.

On Sept 10, Nuruzzaman - a Saudi expatriate - stabbed his 24-year-old son Md Shahed at his home in Mirsharai Upazila when he protested his father's second marriage. He then fled with Anwara.

Shahed was taken to the Mirsharai Upazila Health Complex, where a doctor declared him dead.
