Bangladesh, Sept. 18 -- A man has been shot and killed in a clash between two BNP factions in a power struggle in the Char area of Narsingdi Sadar Upazila.
At least five people have been injured in the incident.
The clash took place around 5am on Thursday in Muradnagar village, said Narsingdi Sadar Police Station chief Mohammad Emdadul Haque.
Locals said the clash was between supporters of Alokbali Union BNP convenor Shah Alam Chowdhury and expelled BNP member secretary Abdul Qayyum Miah. Some Awami League leaders and activists were also present on both sides.
The deceased, 55-year-old Idon Mia, was a native of Muradnagar village. Details on the injured have yet to be confirmed.
