Dhaka, June 5 -- A long tailback has formed on the Dhaka-Tangail-Jamuna Bridge Highway as a result of the Eid rush and multiple vehicles breaking down on the road linking to the bridge.

This situation occurred late Wednesday night. By Thursday morning, heavy traffic congestion on the road stretched for at least 24 kilometres, from the Jamuna Bridge Toll Plaza to the Rabna Bypass.

As a result, holidaymakers heading to the north to celebrate Eid-ul-Azha are facing severe hardship.

Bogura-bound Shah Fateh Ali's bus driver said, "We encountered the traffic jam from dawn at the Nagar Jalfai Bypass in Tangail. The heat is making it extremely difficult."
