Dhaka, July 3 -- Liverpool forward Diogo Jota has reportedly been killed in a car crash in Spain. The footballer was 28.

The accident occurred on the A52, near the municipality of Palacios de Sanabria, reports Marca.

Jota had reportedly been travelling in a car with his brother Andre, who is also a 26-year-old footballer, when the vehicle went off road.

The tragic news comes just two weeks after Jota married his long-term girlfriend Rute Cardoso in Porto.

Jota made 182 appearances for the Scousers and scored 65 goals, sometimes proving the decisive edge in close matches.
