Dhaka, Nov. 14 -- BNP National Standing Committee Member Salahuddin Ahmed has warned that the sovereignty of Bangladesh's parliament cannot be "interfered with" through law or order imposed on it.
He said, "We believe that, in order to ensure that the sovereignty of the national parliament of Bangladesh is not undermined, we do not want to allow any interference in the sovereignty of the national parliament by any law, order, or any kind of coercive proposal imposed on it."
"Because this is the only sovereign house in Bangladesh, which represents the people, their sovereign representation through those who will be elected to the national parliament."
Salahuddin made the remarks at an event in Dhaka's Shahbagh on Friday morning.
