Bangladesh, Sept. 18 -- A "mob" has attacked, vandalised, and set fire to the shrine of Kofil Uddin Shah in Cumilla after an announcement was made over a mosque loudspeaker.

The incident took place on Thursday, said Homna Upazila administrator (UNO) Khemalika Chakma.

Upon receiving information, police and Army personnel went to the scene and brought the situation under control.

Locals said there are several other shrines within the compound of the shrine.
