Bangladesh, Sept. 1 -- Police have recovered the body of journalist Wahid Uz Zaman Bulu from beneath the Khan Jahan Ali Bridge over the Rupsa River in Khulna.

The 60-year-old had signs of injury on his right hand and face, but the cause of death was not immediately known, according to police.

Khulna Press Club Convenor Enamul Haque said that Bulu was a senior correspondent at Sangbad Pratidin. He was a member of the Khulna Press Club and the Khulna Union of Journalists (KUJ).

Rupsa River Police Outpost chief Abul Khayer said the body was recovered around 8:15pm on Sunday.

"His identity was confirmed from the NID card found with the body," he added.
