Dhaka, Dec. 1 -- BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir says the medical condition of party chief Khaleda Zia is now stable.

He told bdnews24.com on Monday, "Madam's condition is now stable. Her treatment is ongoing under the close observation of doctors."

"The different news items circulating about Madam in the media are not correct. No one should be confused by them."

The BNP secretary general called for party leaders, activists, and her countrymen to pray for Khaleda's speedy recovery.

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said, "As before, Madam's treatment is proceeding at the intensive care unit of Evercare Hospital. Please do not be confused, no matter what people say."
