Dhaka, Dec. 30 -- Funeral prayers for former prime minister and BNP chief Khaleda Zia will be held on Wednesday at Parliament's South Plaza. She will later be laid to rest beside her husband, former president Ziaur Rahman.
The announcement was made on Tuesday by Law Advisor Asif Nazrul following a special meeting of the interim government's Advisory Council at the State Guest House Jamuna.
He said BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir attended the meeting as a special invitee and informed officials that the funeral prayers would take place after Zuhr prayers at the Parliament complex and the adjoining Manik Mia Avenue.
Khaleda will then be laid to rest beside BNP founder Zia, who was assassinated in 1981.
