Dhaka, Feb. 5 -- The International Crimes Tribunal has sentenced former Dhaka MP Md Saiful Islam to death in a crimes against humanity case over the shooting of six people and the burning of their bodies in Savar's Ashulia during the July Uprising.

A three-member bench of International Crimes Tribunal-2, led by Justice Nazrul Islam Chowdhury, began delivering its verdict on Thursday afternoon.

The other two members of the tribunal are Justice Md Manjurul Bashid and Justice Nur Mohammad Shahriar Kabir.

The fate of 15 other suspects will be decided in the verdict.
