Dhaka, Dec. 29 -- Jatiya Party (JP) Chairman Anwar Hossain Manju has withdrawn from the parliamentary elections, choosing not to submit his nomination papers.
He had collected nomination papers for the Pirojpur-2 constituency but ultimately decided against contesting.
Speaking on Monday, the last day of submission, the former minister said: "I had picked up nomination papers to contest the Pirojpur-2 seat, which includes Kawkhali, Bhandaria and Nesarabad Upazilas. But due to health issues, I will not be running. That is why I did not submit the papers."
The documents were collected on his behalf from the office of Rehena Akter, Bhandaria assistant returning officer and Upazila administrator (UNO), with local leaders and party activists...
