Dhaka, Jan. 7 -- Senior Jamaat-e-Islami leader Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher has alleged the government and law-enforcing agencies have "tilted" towards "a specific political party", raising concerns over the fairness of the upcoming general election.

He made the remarks at a media briefing on Wednesday at the party chief's office in Bashundhara.

Without naming any specific political party, he said: "Over the last week or two, the way the Bangladesh government and our law-enforcing authorities -- including the Army -- have leaned towards a specific party, and the way the administration is demonstrating its loyalty to that party, has raised fears.
