Dhaka, Jan. 1 -- Jamaat-e-Islami leader and former lawmaker Latifur Rahman has pledged to assume full responsibility for leaders and activists joining the party from the Awami League.
Speaking at Madanmore, Chapainawabganj on Tuesday, Latifur said the nation was on the verge of "a change".
"You will join our party from the Awami League, and we will take responsibility for you. Be it the jail, the police station, or any duty, we will handle it, In Sha Allah."
Two videos of his address circulated widely on social media that evening.
Latifur emphasised, "Those joining from the Awami League or BNP, your responsibilities will be ours. Do not compare the current Jamaat with the old. Today, Jamaat is far stronger.
