Dhaka, Feb. 8 -- A court has imposed a travel ban on Abdus Salam Murshedy, a former MP and ex-vice-president of the Bangladesh Football Federation, who is currently in jail.

The order was issued on Sunday by a Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Sabbir Foyez following an application by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The ACC told the court it was investigating allegations that Murshedy, the former MP for Khulna-4, had accumulated large sums of illegal wealth through corruption and irregularities. It said there was information suggesting he and others linked to the case were attempting to leave the country.
