Dhaka, May 16 -- Jagannath University students have continued their sit-in protest at Dhaka's Kakrail Mosque intersection, near the chief advisor's official residence, demanding a budget increase, an investigation into the recent police attack on students, and punishment of those responsible, along with two other demands.

Although the rally with current and former students and faculty was scheduled to begin at 10am on Friday, it was delayed and began around 11:30am instead.

Teachers and students arrived by bus to join the rally. As a result, traffic has been halted on the stretch of road from Matsya Bhaban to Kakrail intersection.
