Dhaka, Jan. 31 -- Jagannath University has resumed admissions tests under self-management despite repeated requests and directives from the Ministry of Education to return to the cluster system.

The admission test for the "E" unit was held at 10am on Friday.

Initially, the plan was to hold the test in three shifts. However, the admission test was held in a single shift as the number of students was quite small for the Fine Arts Faculty.

As many as 1,375 students sat for the admission test, vying for 60 seats.

"We left the cluster system in a disciplined way through this admission test. Almost 90 percent of the applicants have appeared to sit for the exam," said Fine Arts Faculty Dean Prof Md Aloptogin Tushar.
