Dhaka, Oct. 17 -- Iraq has expressed interest in recruiting Bangladeshi workers across various sectors under a new labour cooperation agreement signed between the two countries.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the recruitment of skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled workers from Bangladesh was signed during a two-day meeting of the Bangladesh-Iraq Joint Committee on Labour Cooperation at the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment in Dhaka.
The MoU was signed by Ahmadul Haque, additional secretary of the ministry, and Kazim Abdur Reza Khayyun At-Wani, director general of Iraq's Media, Arab and International Relations Department, the ministry said in a statement on Thursday.
