Dhaka, June 20 -- The interim government has sent five secretaries into compulsory retirement, citing "public interest" after they completed 25 years of service.
Separate notifications issued by the public administration ministry on Thursday said the decision was made in accordance with government service regulations.
The officials affected include:
Kazi Enamul Hasan, Director General of the Bangladesh Employees Welfare Board
Sukesh Kumar Sarker, Director General of the National Academy for Planning and Development
Muhammad Ibrahim, Chairman of the Land Appeal Board
Md Shahid Ullah, Rector of the National Academy for Development Administration
Mohammad Salah Uddin, Secretary (currently Officer on Special Duty)
