Dhaka, Dec. 19 -- The body of Sharif Osman bin Hadi, convenor of Inqilab Moncho, has been brought back to Bangladesh from Singapore.

The Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight carrying his body landed at Shahjalal International Airport at around 5:45pm, Airport Police chief Mobarak Hossain said.

The aircraft departed Singapore's Changi International Airport at 2:03pm Bangladesh time.

Airport officials said the coffin will be taken out through Hangar Gate No. 8, where a vehicle has been arranged.

Security at the Dhaka airport was beefed up ahead of the transfer, with additional personnel from police, Border Guard Bangladesh, Armed Police Battalion and Ansar deployed.
