Dhaka, May 11 -- India has accused Pakistan of breaching a ceasefire agreement just hours after it was announced, vowing to respond decisively to the violations.
Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, speaking at a late-night press briefing on Saturday, said the country's armed forces had been ordered to "strongly deal with violations along the border", according to multiple media reports.
"For the last few hours, there have been repeated violations of the understanding we arrived at earlier this evening," Misri said. "This is a breach of the agreement reached earlier today. We call on Pakistan to halt the violation."
