Dhaka, Oct. 16 -- As in previous years, girls have once again outperformed boys in both the pass rate and GPA-5 achievements in the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations.
Of the 1,235,661 students who sat for the 2025 HSC and equivalent exams, 624,215 were girls. Among them, 393,096 passed, representing a pass rate of 62.97 percent.
Out of 611,215 boys, 333,864 passed at a rate of 54.60 percent.
This year, a total of 69,097 students achieved a GPA of 5. Of them, 37,044 were girls and 32,053 were boys, meaning 4,991 more girls received the top grade than their male peers.
