Dhaka, Dec. 14 -- The High Court has ordered the reservation of 8,501 non-cadre posts under the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS).

The bench of Justice Md Mozibur Rahman Miah and Justice Md Hamidur Rahman issued the order on Sunday after hearing a petition filed by 773 43rd BCS candidates.

Lawyer Mohammad Humayun Kabir Pallob, accompanied by Naeem Sardar and Ashraful Karim Sagar, argued on behalf of the petition, and Md Moniruzzaman represented the Public Service Commission (PSC).

Around 500 job seekers, who passed the 43rd BCS examination but were not recommended for cadre posts by the PSC, filed the petition on Jan 29.
