Dhaka, Nov. 19 -- The High Court has ordered authorities to report within 90 days on the security arrangements for judges of the Supreme Court premises, lower courts and tribunals, including their chambers and residences.
The court also issued a rule asking why inaction by the authorities to ensure overall security for judges should not be declared illegal.
A bench of Justice Shikder Mahmudur Raji and Justice Raziuddin Ahmed gave the order during the initial hearing of a writ petition.
The petition was heard by Advocate Mohammad Omar Faruk, with Advocate Mokaddas Ahmed also present.
Faruk told bdnews24.com that the petition was filed by Advocate Md Mehedi Hassan in the "public interest".
