Dhaka, March 30 -- A mild to moderate heatwave is sweeping across three divisions and four districts, but the weather may cool in some regions from Sunday, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) says.

The Dhaka, Rajshahi and Khulna divisions and the Moulvibazar, Rangamati, Barishal and Patuakhali districts are baking in the sweltering heat, the BMD said on Sunday.

Meteorologist Shahnaz Sultana said, "The heatwave could be felt yesterday, and it's still here today. But it will ease quite a lot in some places today. The possibility of rain is next to none. Overall, the weather will be quite pleasant during Eid."
