Dhaka, Feb. 23 -- The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed a chargesheet against Sheikh Hasina and 14 others over the "murder" of Hafizur Rahman Sumon, a Jubo Dal leader killed during the July Uprising in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar.
Police recommended exempting 63 others from the charges, including Jatiya Party Presidium member and former Barisal-3 MP Golam Kibria Tipu, citing a lack of evidence linking them to the attack.
The chargesheet was submitted to the court on Feb 3 by Inspector Mohammad Atikur Rahman Khan of the Anti-Terrorism Unit's Investigation Branch.
