Dhaka, July 5 -- A speeding SUV carrying a wedding party has crashed into the wall of a college in India's Uttar Pradesh, killing eight members of the same family, including the 24-year-old groom.

The accident took place in the Sambhal district around 6:30am on Friday, leaving two others critically injured, according to NDTV.

The Bolero was reportedly travelling at high speed when the driver lost control near Janata Inter College. The vehicle rammed into the boundary wall and flipped over.

The SUV was carrying 10 members of a family, three more than its capacity, en route to a wedding ceremony.
