Dhaka, May 25 -- The government has increased the prices of rawhide collected from sacrificial animals ahead of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha.
The price of cowhide in Dhaka has been raised by Tk 5 per sq ft compared to last year. Meanwhile, goat skin prices have gone up by Tk 2 per sq ft.
This year, tanners in the capital will be able to purchase salt-cured cowhide at Tk 60-65 a sq ft, up from last year's rate of Tk 55-60.
Outside Dhaka, the price of salt-cured cowhide has been set at Tk 55-60 per sq ft, compared to last year's Tk 50-55.
Additionally, salted goat hides (from black goats) will be sold to tanneries nationwide for Tk 22-27 per sq ft, up from Tk 20-25 last year. The price of regular goat hides will be Tk 20-22.
