Dhaka, June 3 -- Commerce Advisor Sheikh Bashir Uddin has announced the government's special measures to ensure that orphanages and madrasas receive a fair price for the hides of sacrificial animals.

He said, "To support the diversification, preservation, and storage of the hides, a total of 30,000 tonnes of salt have been distributed free of charge to various orphanages and madrasas. Temporary approval has also been granted for the export of raw hides."

"As a result, we expect that orphanages and madrasas will receive appropriate compensation," he added.

He made these comments on Tuesday at a post-budget press conference, which began with an introductory statement on the proposed budget by Finance Advisor Salehuddin Ahmed.
