Dhaka, Nov. 20 -- Law Advisor Asif Nazrul has said the government is considering approaching the International Criminal Court (ICC) to seek the extradition of former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, who has been sentenced to death for crimes against humanity.
He disclosed the plan at a press briefing after a meeting of the Advisory Council at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka on Thursday.
Bangladesh's International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) on Monday delivered its verdict against Hasina and three others for crimes against humanity during the July Uprising.
The verdict also sentenced Hasina's home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal to death.
