Dhaka, Jan. 5 -- A theft has taken place at a gold jewellery shop in Chandrima Market of Mohammadpur, Dhaka, where the thieves took away a chest from the shop.
The incident occurred around 3:15am on Monday at a shop named New Rana Jewellers.
According to police, the shop owner complained that 816.2g of gold and 6.99kg of silver were stolen. The thieves removed and took away the shop's chest, which contained most of the gold and silver.
The shop owner also reported that Tk 400,000 in cash was stolen.
Owner Masud Rana told journalists that he had closed the shop and returned home around 11:00pm on Sunday.
