Dhaka, Oct. 30 -- Gas supply through the pipeline in Brahmanbaria resumed around four and a half hours after a construction mishap during the ongoing four-lane highway expansion damaged a gas connection line.

Bakhrabad Gas Distribution Company Limited's Deputy General Manager Shafiqul Haque said gas supply was restored around 9pm on Thursday, bringing relief to thousands of affected consumers.

The disruption occurred around 4pm in Ulchapara area of Brahmanbaria municipality when an excavator accidentally struck a section of the gas pipeline during roadwork.

Shafiqul said the excavator punctured a six-inch pipeline, causing a gas leak.
