Dhaka, Nov. 13 -- The interim government has carried out a major administrative move in a single day, issuing two separate orders to appoint new deputy commissioners (DCs) in 23 districts ahead of the general election.

In the second notification on Thursday night, 15 new DCs were assigned to different districts, while orders for the transfer of two previous DCs were cancelled.

With these moves, a total of 50 districts have received new district administrators within the past week.

On the same day, the government also appointed four new divisional commissioners -- three new faces and one transferred from another division.
