Dhaka, Feb. 2 -- A head-on collision between a truck and a car has left four members of a family dead and at least five others injured in Sylhet's Osmaninagar Upazila.

The accident occurred around 7am on Dhaka-Sylhet Highway's Unish Mile area on Sunday, said Osmaninagar Police OC Md Monayem Mia.

The dead are Sayma Akter Iti, 35, Shamima Yasmin, 38, Sohel Bhuiyan, 38, and Ayan, a 6-year old child identified with a single name.

Mehedi Hasan, a member of the family of those dead, said the family was headed towards Sylhet to visit a shrine.

"On the way, my maternal aunt, uncle and cousin died after a head-on collision with a stone-laden truck at Osmaninagar's Unish Mile area," he added.
