Dhaka, Jan. 12 -- Mashiur Rahman Ranga, former Jatiya Party secretary general and ex-minister, has disclosed that his income from "unspecified" or "other sources" vastly outweighs his professional earnings from business.

According to the affidavit submitted alongside his nomination for the Lalmonirhat-1 (Patgram-Hatibandha) constituency, his secondary income is more than five times higher than his commercial profits.

While Ranga served as a three-time MP for Rangpur-1, this marks his maiden bid for the Lalmonirhat-1 seat under the "plough" symbol.

The filing reveals his annual business income stands at Tk 2.45 million, while "other sources" generate a staggering Tk 13.53 million annually.
