Dhaka, Jan. 30 -- Police have recovered the body of a former Chhatra League leader from a sack three days after he went missing in Narsingdi's Belabo Upazila.

The body was recovered from a pond in the Upazila's Nager Bazar area around 8pm on Thursday, said Belabo Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Nasir Uddin.

The dead man, Azimul Quader Bhuiyan, 40, hailed from Baghaber village in Bajnab Union and was a poultry trader. He is the former general secretary of the union Chhatra League and former joint general secretary of the Upazila Chhatra League.

According to his family, Azimul went missing after he left his poultry farm around 8pm on Tuesday.
