Dhaka, Feb. 21 -- The wife of former Biman Bangladesh Airlines managing director and chief executive officer Shafiqur Rahman has given a statement before a Dhaka court in a case over the alleged abuse of a minor domestic worker.

After completing seven days of remand, Bithi was produced before the court on Saturday by the investigating officer, Sub-Inspector (SI) Robel Mia of Uttara West Police Station.

As she agreed to give a voluntary confessional statement, the investigator sought permission to record it.

Metropolitan Magistrate Md Ismail recorded her statement, according to prosecution SI Tahmina Akter. She was later sent to jail.
