Dhaka, March 27 -- Former Bangladesh cricket captain Tamim Iqbal is "doing very well" in his recovery from a heart attack following a stent procedure, doctors have said.

On Thursday, Dr Arif Mahmud of Evercare Hospital said he would be able to return home after another 48 hours of observation if things went according to plan.

Dr Shahabuddin Talukder, a senior consultant of the hospital's Cardiology Care Center, spoke about Tamim's current physical and mental state.

The hospital formed a five-member board led by Shahbuddin to assess Tamim's physical condition.
