Dhaka, May 4 -- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says that it is conducting maintenance work on its official Facebook page after it was hacked.

"Necessary actions are being taken to investigate the matter and strengthen security measures to prevent any such future untoward recurrence," the foreign ministry said in a press release on Sunday.

The ministry said that it had noted that inappropriate content was shared from the page without proper authorisation.

"For now, everyone is kindly requested not to trust, share, or engage with any posts or messages from the Facebook page until full recovery," it said in the statement.
