Dhaka, Jan. 1 -- Fog has disrupted flight operations at Shahjalal International Airport, causing delays in take-offs and landings and triggering traffic congestion on surrounding roads.

A spokesperson for Shahjalal International Airport said fog caused "operational delays" to several flights, slightly affecting their schedules.

However, no flight was diverted or forced to land at another airport, the official added.

The flight delays increased the number of vehicles inside the airport premises, slowing entry and exit for passengers.

This led to long queues of vehicles and congestion on nearby roads.
