Dhaka, Oct. 13 -- Five people have died after drinking what police say was "bootleg liquor" in Shajahanpur Upazila in Bogura.
On Monday, Shajahanpur Police chief Shafiqul Islam Palash said Ansar member Ranju Mia, 30, died while undergoing treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU) of Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital in the early hours of the day.
The other four dead reportedly due to similar reasons are Mizanur Rahman Mandal Liton, 50, autorickshaw driver Nasidul Islam, 27, truck driver Abdul Manik Akand, 30, and autorickshaw driver Abdullah Al Kafi, 30.
Police said five men drank alcohol together in Bejora Madhyapara of the Upazila, on Oct 2.
