Dhaka, Feb. 2 -- Thousands of people have taken part in the Akheri Munajat or the special prayer to wrap up the first phase of the Biswa Ijtema, one of the largest Muslim gatherings, organised at the bank of the Turag River in Gazipur's Tongi. The devotees prayed for the unity, peace and welfare of the Muslims around the world.
Senior cleric Zubair Ahmed guided the Akheri Munajat on Sunday for his followers who identify themselves as "Shuraye Nizam".
The Munajat started at 9:11am and continued until 9:35am.
The devotees prayed for enlightenment, unity, peace, and salvation in this world and the afterlife for Muslims of the world. Besides, they prayed for Allah's mercy and pardon for the wrong deeds.
