Dhaka, Oct. 14 -- Faria Yasmin has been appointed as the first female managing director of multinational footwear manufacturer and retailer Bata, marking a historic first in the company's 63-year presence in Bangladesh.
She will assume her role on Nov 20, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) announced on Monday.
Bata confirmed the change in a statement, mentioning that Yasmin succeeds Debabrata Mukherjee, who is leaving to join an Indian multinational.
Yasmin brings 23 years of experience in brand marketing, portfolio management, and business operations in Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
She previously served as chief business officer at ACI PLC and held senior roles at Reckitt Benckiser, Marico, and Nestle.
