Dhaka, Nov. 30 -- Finland's foreign ministry has announced plans to shut down its embassies in Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Myanmar in 2026.
Arab News reports the ministry attributed the closures to "operational and strategic reasons."
The ministry also highlighted its frequent review of the effectiveness of Finland's diplomatic posts abroad to determine how well they correspond to current and long-term needs.
The strategic assessment launched by the Finnish foreign ministry this year reflects the country's foreign and security policy interests while addressing trade-promotion activities of Team Finland, according to Arab News.
