Dhaka, June 29 -- A delegation of protesting tax and customs officials is to meet Finance Advisor Salehuddin Ahmed amid the ongoing movement demanding the removal of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) chairman.

Ten members of the Income Tax Department and 10 members of the Customs and VAT Department will attend the meeting with the finance advisor at 4pm on Sunday.

For the second day, NBR officials and employees are observing the "March to NBR" programme by completely shutting down all tax, VAT and customs offices in the country.

Discussions of a meeting with the finance advisor emerged as the work stoppage caused Bangladesh's import and export activities to "stagnate".
