Dhaka, Dec. 24 -- A case has been lodged following the shooting of a senior National Citizen Party (NCP) labour wing leader in Khulna, with police naming a district youth wing leader as the prime suspect.

On Tuesday, Rahima Akter Fahima, the wife of Jatiya Sramik Shakti Khulna divisional chief Motaleb Shikdar, started the case with Sonadanga Police, naming Tanima Tanni, a joint member secretary of the district unit, as the prime suspect.

Chief of Sonadanga Police Rafiqul Islam said Tanima was named alongside seven to eight other unidentified individuals.

"Tanima has been shown arrested," he said.
