Dhaka, Dec. 30 -- BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's funeral prayers will be held at 2pm on Wednesday at Parliament's South Plaza, according to the BNP. She will later be laid to rest beside her husband, former president Ziaur Rahman.

BNP's Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced the schedule after attending a meeting of the party's Standing Committee at its chairperson's Gulshan office on Wednesday afternoon.

He said the funeral prayers will be led by the khatib of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque. The proceedings of the funeral will be conducted by the Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan.
